Hackney DIY Art Market
On Sunday we travelled up to East London to take part in Hackney DIY Art Market. It was a gloomy, chilly day but loads of people managed to make their way to the event and we had a great day running our stall. Our pal Tom surprised us with a visit and we all had falafel wraps from our favourite kebab shop on Stoke Newington Road, washed down with Supermalts. Here are some of our favourite things from the other stalls at the market.
Menacing monochrome ceramic figures by ceramist and illustrator Lucy Kirk
Fun patches by Londoner and embroiderer Jess Warby
Cool screenprinted T-shirts by fellow Brightonians Good Day Club
Super cute Pigeon toy by Stephen Glove
Nihilistic tote bags and prints by Gotvitaminc (Jamie Morrison)
Beautifully illustrated and highly amusing books by Stella Salumaa
Fun and colourful ceramics by London-based duo Leah and Andy, aka It’s Alright
A little film of Patrick’s drawings during the day, mostly based on people spotted at the market.
Thanks very much to everyone who bought stuff, people who made nice comments and to the organisers. We will be selling our wares again at Brighton DIY Art Market on 30th April 2017, 11:00-18:00 at The Old Market.
And finally, the award for the most chic dog at the market goes to this little chap.
