Illustration We Love: Jon Boam
We’ve been enjoying Jon Boam‘s art for ages… maybe about 8 years! So it’s nice to finally share his wonderful illustrations with the rest of the world here on our wee blog. We love Jon’s fascination with all things sci-fi, futuristic and fantastical. We also adore the animals he draws and the anthropomorphic characters who pop up all over his website. Jon currently resides in Derbyshire in the UK and enjoys hiking in the surrounding countryside. We’re right impressed by the range of his work – he has illustrated children’s, painted murals, done character design for music videos and computer games and collaborated with the likes of Nobrow and Matthew the Horse. Here’s a really interesting interview with the man himself on Crumb Cabin, which includes details of his travels and travails and what is in his opinion the most useful invention of all time.
We especially love Jon’s sketchbook work, which he very generously shares on his Instagram and flickr accounts. His lines are just so well drawn and so great to look at! If you want to own something with pictures by Jon on it, check out his Society 6 shop, it’s got loads of great stuff on it.
