Music Video Friday: King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard – People-Vultures
As we may have already mentioned, we bloody love King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard here at YUK FUN and they are the band we’re most excited about seeing when we go to End of the Road festival later this summer.
Their new album is called Nonagon Infinity and is packed chock-full of fast-paced hard rocking psychedelic madness. The album has been made so that each track flows seamlessly into the next and the first track starts where the last one ends, so you could listen to the album on repeat for eternity! Here’s People-Vultures, one of the tracks taken from the new album with a suitably nutty video that appears to be inspired by Japanese TV shows and films featuring fun monster costumes, like Ultraman and Godzilla.
The video begins where their druid sacrifice video for previous single Gamma Knife ended, continuing the theme of continuationyness. We’re really impressed by the massive vulture costume that incorporates all of the band members playing their instruments and the stuntman Thaison Tran has some excellent moves.
Below the video we have added our favourite funny/weird gifs from old Japanese TV shows and films.
Did these shows inspire the video? We may never know but they are great fun to watch anyway…
