Glasgow Print Fair 2020
Hi blog readers! We’re very pleased to show you the special new print we made for Glasgow Print Fair. We were lucky enough to have a table at the fair last year so when the organisers offered us the opportunity to take part in the “at home” edition of the fair we jumped at the chance!
Our print is a three colour risograph called “The Good Life” and is printed on heavyweight white 300gsm A3 paper. The ink colours are medium blue, seafoam and yellow. It’s a limited edition of fifty prints available on our webshop.
Our print was inspired by how lucky we feel to have a little allotment plot during lockdown here in the UK. It’s a short walk from our house and is a nice quiet place to go to and enjoy growing fruit, vegetables and flowers. There are parts of the allotment site that have been abandoned by plot holders so nature runs wild in places. We’ve seen foxes, slow worms and lots of birds including linnets and even peregrine falcons!
Our Patrick likes to draw gardening scenes in his sketchbooks, here are a few of them.
Who’s that bunny? During one of our live drawing nights on instagram a viewer made a request for a bunny in a flowery shirt and dungarees on a skateboard with marbles for wheels. Our Lucy liked this little fella so much we decided they should be the central character in our nature themed print.
How do you make a risograph print?
Here’s an animated gif of the different colour layers that make up the print.

Twenty seven other artists have also created amazing new artwork for the fair around the theme of nature. Here’s a wee selection of the prints, you can see all of them on the Glasgow Print Fair website until the end of July.
Have a perusal of the whole print fair now at www.glasgowprintfair.co.uk. Open until the 31st July 2020.
