Today we explore the magical creations of self proclaimed visual adventurer Sue Doeksen.
Sue is based in Amsterdam, where based on the evidence from her website, she produces mountains of wonderful work. She is represented by We Are Goodness in the UK and Acne in Sweden. Sue produces a huge variety of artwork including large scale art installations, animations, illustrations as well as big banners made out of fabric.
One of our favourite projects is her colourful and humorous set of images for the Dordrecht tourist information office. The really tall dog with the camera and the bird pooping are definitely selling Dordrecht to us!
Her images that are full of colour and shapes that are easy on the eye. We love her illustrations for the Stertke cook book which are inspired by Chinese medicine packaging. The book contains a selection of “get well soon recipes” and can be sent to friends or family.

Paper cut (personal project)
We really like Sue’s personal projects such as her paper cuts, which she says she has enjoyed doing for as long as she has been able to hold a pair of scissors. She also makes really sweet good luck passes for her friends and family, which she gives out every year.

We feel that the common thread running through Sue’s work is a great sense of humour and a real joy in the creative process. Head to Sue’s website to see all of her work, including her outlandish wedding dress that’s shaped like a dessert and a nice page full of cute gifs.
